Pops Drilling Jig made by Walter Sorrels
The Pops Drilling Jig is used to drill holes into handle materials that are rounded or uneven such as stag, camel bone, rams horn, and similar. The jig uses non marring Delrin to push the handle material up against the tang of your blade. No tools are needed to use the jig and is adjustable up to 5"s length ways. The jig can handle up to 1.7" wide handle materials. One side of the jig is also capable of sliding off the rails to be used in angled applications.
These Jigs are manufactured in the USA by Walter Sorrels.

Very Talented sir I like how symmetrical everything is Good Job
I read that Loveless and Lile preferred D2 steel. Randall used 0-1 steel.
What a grind man❤
The chisel point tanto was first created by American knife maker Bob Lum. I think his first chisel point tantos were from the late 70s. Cold steel copied this in the mid 80s and made it popular
Hell yea Super Steel Steve giving more knowledge!🤘
Any plans on having these back in stock?
Can you make memax rapper mask
American knife right there
I've useed nortan blaze 36 grit but I find it looses ceramic material too fast. The 60 is better but, I'm wondering if my grinder doesnt have enough stregnth. Any one have these issue?
South African here so this story is well known locally. If anyone is interested in reading the book of Harry Wolhunter’s adventures it’s title is Memories of a Game Ranger. Thanks for the video.
Walter has taught me the most about knife making. Any video that he puts out, I'm watching. Thank you sir
If I owned the Discovery Channel, I'd give Walter his own show.
Ya give him a show - this video was just one big advertisement anyway.
If you’re bored of tactical black knives, you can make a few in day glow orange or yellow for the Search and Rescue crowed. Since no one is shooting at us, we kinda like being able to find our knife when we drop it. Thanks for the video
No comments? That's terrible. Walter is doing his thing well, as usual.
Pro tip, if you have a wet-saw, it makes cutting the G10 easy. plus no hazardous dust! Also, using disposable bathroom cups for mixing epoxy allows better mixing with no mess.
On his video he mention some manufacturing challenges. I asked if there was a reason not to manufacture the clamp block from 4 different pieces of steel? Two columns, base and top jaw? And have them joined together with bolts?
Question, how does the 8670 compare to 01 steel? Thanks for the great video
a visit to a Loveless Shop... for me as a knife maker that is rely cool !!!
Jimbo was a great Guy. Miss Him a lot. Always enjoyed doing business with you as well. KnifeMaker= the Loveless Connection Knives. Forced into Retirement very early. GRRRRRR!!!!
Thanks for the lessons guys!
Hola podrías subir por favor los patrones que muestras al inicio para poder imprimir y recortar? Gracias 🙏
Try using 1/16 or 1/8” cork gasket material on your disc. Then use feathering adhesive to stick sandpaper on. Stick paper on close to one end. Use exacto knife to cut paper. Use left over paper for hand sanding
I need someone to make a mask for me
How thick is the leather
Thanks Walter & Pop’s Knife Supply!
I have a John Greco Bowie I used hard for the past fifteen years made from 8670. It is a great steel still no damage to blade after camp/ outdoor chopping use
Good job @scottdavidson716 I enjoyed this. I would love to take a "tour" of your workshop sometime.
My Personalizer Plus is etching great but it isn't marking anymore. Do you have any idea why?
nice, can you make a video testing them?
Good job ,that’s a lot of hammering on tough steel
Please what temperature do you have in the oven?
This is very helpful.
wow that is the worst way i think ive ever seen to cut the paper around the disc
The only similarity between these knives and the original is they sort of look like it. You've taken an inexpensive mass produced knife of 1903 and turned it into something else, entirely.
Good creatif bro
Pretty cool. I went on a tour of evenheat a few weeks ago. It's 10 min from my house.
It's pretty insane how many people got started knife making with Walter sorrels. Watched videos a few years before I jumped into knife making. 10 grand in tools later . Now I'm fully invested . Lol
Been buying from pops for a few years now. I baught a really nice knife from Mr surls. It was a beauty. Nicest knife in my collection. So I was glad to see he's part owner of pops.
I'm interested in your optical setup briefly visible at 2:58. It looks like a magni-visor, but extended to work with the full-face respirator? I'd love to know more about what you are using there.
When are you guys coming back to Mississippi
I don't like stainless steel.
Thank you for sharing this information. It's always good to hear about new material and techniques
Cant understand the Australian guy
Me parese muy interesante. 😅
How is the carbide attached? I have seen one of these file guides in a RUclips video and it looked like the carbide was held on by two screws.
Missed the auto correct it’s Bois d’arc
Its a lot of things. Bodark, Bois D'arc, Osage Orange, Hedge Apple, Horse Apple... Lots of names.
Osage orange is wonderful stuff but it’s not Bodark- it is beau d’arc. It works nice when seasoned. I own almost 1/2 mile of it. I’ve made a longbow, some knife handles as well as hammer and axe handles.
How yo get tranferable molds?
nice
is there a referral link or code we should use?
